Located in Valhalla, New York, mid-Level residents visit Westchester Medical Center for a Transplant Surgery experience. Working with world-renown transplant surgeons, our residents learn how to manage pre- and post-surgical liver and renal transplant patients--recipients from cadaveric and living donors--as well as management of re-transplant patients having presented with graft rejection. Residents scrub into and learn the transplantation operations, as well as traveling to participate in the organ procurement procedures. Residents have the opportunity to scrub into and gain experience performing hepatobiliary procedures during the waiting periods for transplantation compatibility matches.
