Research
Residents are encouraged to participate in clinical research projects. Several opt for two years of funded research in a state of the art facilities nationwide.
The Department of Surgery is heavily involved in research and publications, and participates actively to secure those positions.

The surgical faculty has a strong record of publications in major scientific journals. Residents present research results at national surgical meetings and are expected to assume authorship or co-authorship of a publication of original work during the five-year program.
