Our Participating Hospitals

Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center

As the largest hospital of the Saint Joseph's Healthcare System of New Jersey and a state-designated Trauma Center, Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center is where our residents have the opportunity to learn and master the management of acute blunt and penetrating trauma. High-speed motor vehicle crashes, gunshot wounds, and stab wounds arrive daily. With the guidance of our Trauma and Critical Care attending Surgeons, our residents learn how to triage, stabilize, operate, and save patients who arrive on the brink. Aside from trauma, Residents are exposed to the full range of General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, and others. Of particular note, residents have the opportunity to gain extensive experience with the busy cardiothoracic surgery service. This is also home to Saint Joseph's Children's Hospital, where residents will gain considerable experience in Pediatric Surgery, including Pediatric Trauma.

The award-winning Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center has once again received a ranking among the "Best Hospitals" in the New York Metropolitan Area by U.S. News and World Report for 2012-2013. Healthgrades also recently ranked this hospital among the top 5% of hospitals in the nation to be "5-Star Rated." In this spirit, a recent expansion project created a brand new Acute Care Building featuring state-of-the-art Operating Rooms, Pediatric and Adult Emergency Departments, Surgical ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, and rooftop helipad.
